Take a walk with me and Chelsea in Paris

I’m very lucky that my hometown is located near the French border and that I can visit Paris by train in no time. So I decided to celebrate my birthday in the city of love.

Before starting my trip, I asked myself, what kind of outfits I could bring along. After all, Paris is a city of fashion, where current trends meet the style of past times. That’s why I searched for clothing that combines an elegant vintage charm with modern influences.

The british fashion label Voodoo Vixen had just the things I was looking for. The vintage inspired designs address both lovers of the 1950s and rockabellas who fancy a more modern look.

In consequence, two Voodoo Vixen dresses ended up in my suitcase – Chelsea and Patricia. In this blogpost, I want to introduce you to Chelsea.

As the sun and the temparatures were rising in Paris, I started my summer day wearing the Chelsea dress and fell in love with it right away.

The vintage cut creates a nice A-line, so the dress fits tightly at the upper body and falls loosely over the hips to the knees. The Chelsea dress comes with a belt matching the fabric which defines the waistline even more.

I combined the dress with a white petticoat (double-layered, lenght approx. 26 inches) which made the outfit look more fluffy. The light cotton fabric and the popular pink Gingham pattern are made for the summer heat and for a romantic picnic beneath the Eiffel Tower.

The neckline is the feature I like the most abouth the Chelsea dress. The round collar can be bound in a bow on one side, adjusting to different bust sizes. I suggest that all the ladies who are between two sizes should pick the larger one, since the fabric doesn’t stretch. Unterwegs mit Chelsea in den Gärten von Paris

Da meine Heimatstadt nah an der französischen Grenze liegt, habe ich das Glück, dass mich eine Bahn in einem Wimpernschlag in der Stadt der Liebe bringt. Also beschloss ich, meinen Geburtstag dieses Jahr dort zu verbringen.

Vor Reiseantritt habe ich mich gefragt, welche Outfits ich in die Mode-Metropole mitnehmen könnte. Schließlich trifft man in Paris sowohl auf die aktuellsten Trends als auch auf den Stil der vergangenen Jahrzehnte. Daher machte ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Garderobe, die den klassisch-eleganten Charme mit modernen Einflüssen vereint.

Bei dem britischen Modelabel Voodoo Vixen wurde ich fündig. Die vintage-inspirierten Designs des Labels sprechen nicht nur Liebhaber der 50er Jahre an; auch moderne Rockabellas kommen beim Stöbern auf ihre Kosten.

Folglich landeten zwei Kleider von Voodoo Vixen in meinem Koffer – Chelsea und Patricia. In diesem Post möchte ich euch Chelsea vorstellen.

Als die Sonne über Paris aufging und die Temperaturen langsam stiegen, startete ich mit meinem Chelsea Kleid in den Sommertag. In dieses Kleid habe ich mich auf den ersten Blick verliebt.

Der klassische 50er Jahre Schnitt erzeugt eine schöne A-Linie, die das Kleid am Oberkörper anliegen und den Rockteil ab Hüfthöhe bis zu den Knien locker fallen lässt. Das Kleid kommt mit passendem Gürtel, der die Taille zusätzlich definiert.

Das Chelsea Kleid lässt sich gut mit einem Petticoat kombinieren (mein Petticoat hat mehrere Lagen bei einer Länge von 65 cm) und wirkt dadurch noch lockerer. Mit dem leichten Baumwoll-Stoff trotzt jede Trägerin der Sommerhitze und das konventionelle Gingham-Muster in pastell-rosa ist wie gemacht für ein romantisches Picknick unter dem Eiffelturm.

Ein besonderer Eyecatcher ist der außergewöhnliche, runde Kragen, der sich auf einer Seite zu einer Schleife binden lässt. So passt sich das Kleid an verschiedene Oberweiten an. Ich rate allen Mädels, die zwischen zwei Konfektionsgrößen schwanken, zur größeren Größe zu greifen, da der Stoff nicht dehnbar ist (ich trage hier eine Größe S).
